What is ABC ID?

The Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) is a digital platform under NEP 2020. It stores, accumulates, and transfers academic credits earned across universities. Every student pursuing an online or regular degree must have one.

Why is ABC ID Required?

UGC mandates ABC registration for all UGC-recognised online programs. Without it, universities cannot register your credits and your degree may not be processed.

Step-by-Step: Create Your ABC ID

• Visit abc.gov.in → click "Student Sign Up"
• Login using your DigiLocker account (create one if needed)
• Enter name, date of birth, Aadhaar number
• Select your institution from the dropdown
• Your 12-digit ABC ID is generated instantly
• Download and save your ABC ID card

Documents You Need

• Valid Aadhaar card
• Mobile number linked to Aadhaar
• Active email address
• Previous educational certificates

Common Issues & Fixes

If Aadhaar is not linked to a mobile number, visit the nearest Aadhaar Enrollment Centre. Name mismatches must exactly match your school certificates.
