IIM Calcutta : Executive Programme in Healthcare Management Program Overview

It is a multi-disciplinary educational program for healthcare professionals that covers a range of subjects related to healthcare management, including global health, the Indian healthcare industry, public health, and health systems management. The program will also cover managerial competencies in leadership, organizational design, strategy, marketing, communication, operations management, economics, human resources management, finance and accounting, and information systems.

Healthcare professionals in general, and specifically, hospital administrators, doctors, professionals from medical and allied sectors such as pharmaceuticals and medical insurance as well as healthcare entrepreneurs.

This module provides an overview of the global and Indian healthcare landscape, including healthcare systems, regulatory and ethical issues, and public policies in different countries. The module enables the participants to develop a comparative perspective to healthcare systems as well as to understand the underlying socio-political choices.

This module provides exposure to knowledge of a breadth of functional management domains such as marketing, organisational design, strategic management, human resources management, leadership, conflict and negotiation, operations management (supply chain, project management), accounting, and finance. Participants will explore how foundational management principles from these functional domains can be applied in the healthcare sector.

In addition, there will be sessions to strengthen individual competencies like communication and basic statistical skills.
